Upper School Schedule

Our 8-Day schedule provides a common framework for 14 grades of learning which includes dedicated time for cross-grade collaboration and long blocks of time to allow for more engaged learning experiences and student exploration.

The Upper School schedule has been structured to accentuate four core values of our school’s mission: progressive pedagogy, creative collaboration, civic engagement and student wellness. We begin each day with Arts Ensemble, a block dedicated to band, choir, and dance rehearsals. We then have a long block (75 minutes) followed by hour-long classes for progressive pedagogy. In the middle of the day (11–12 p.m.), we dedicate time to relationship forming, community building, and civic engagement through Advisory, Conference, Student Government, Civic Lab, Graderoom and MX. Every other day, we have a Wellness Block, which combines physical education and a Life Kit class for students in every grade. During Life Kit, students rotate through a series of skill-building workshops focused on developmentally relevant topics unique to each Upper School grade level.
