Student-Athletes of the Week

We are thrilled to announce that your Parker Chess team has won the ICCA Division 1A State Championship after their performance at the IHSA State Final in Peoria over break. Parker had an excellent weekend playing against some of the best schools in the state, finishing 36th overall out of 128 teams, and were the top performing team in Division 1A. Our Student-Athletes of the Week is our Chess Team. The players at state were Seniors Shalen Chawla and Jasper Chazen, Juniors Darius Cleaver, Ari Deutsch and Tyler Garibaldi, Sophomores William and Josephine McCloskey, and Freshmen Isiah Jakobe and Abe Erlinger.

The Girls’ basketball team finished out their season during February Recess, suffering an overtime loss against Christ the King in the IHSA playoffs.

The Boys’ basketball team began their IHSA playoff run this week, defeating Disney II Magnet High School 64-31, which allowed the team to advance to the Regional Semifinal where they suffered a loss against Northridge College Prep. 

Make sure to congratulate the Chess team and wish the Boys’ Basketball team luck. Spring sports are right around the corner!
