Student-Athletes of the Weeks
Week of January 13
The Chess and Scholastic Bowl teams have found success in league play. Chess is currently second in the Chicago Chess Conference with an opportunity to retake the Conference lead soon. Scholastic Bowl competed at League Meet 1 of 2 in the Chicago Metro North Conference on Saturday, going 6-3 with a victory over defending league champion Walter Payton College Prep.
This week's SAC Student-Athlete of the Week is senior Bryce Johnson. Bryce has captained the basketball team to a great 7-1 start this season. He put up 13 points and 10 rebounds in a hard-fought contest against Northridge Prep last Friday.
Week of January 20
This week's Student-Athlete of the Week is another of Parker's outstanding individual athletes who compete in sports Parker does not offer. Junior Ava Lin has been having an outstanding squash season and is among the best in her age group nationally.
Earlier this month, Ava competed at the British Open, finishing 18th against some of the toughest competition in the world. Ava is currently ranked 8th nationally for her age group.
Make sure to congratulate Ava on her amazing achievements!
