On Saturday, December 7, all four of Parker’s Middle School FIRST LEGO League teams competed at the League Qualifying Tournament, hosted at Parker for the second consecutive year.
The event took place thanks to the hard work of the Upper School FIRST Tech Challenge team, whose veteran members volunteered to help organize and run the tournament. Special thanks go to George Austin for his leadership and dedication in ensuring the event’s success.
Among the 19 teams that competed, Parker’s teams delivered great performances.
Koding Krakens placed 4th in the robot game and won the Engineering Excellence Award for their efficiently designed robot and innovative project solution addressing this season’s challenge.
Diving Dogs, a team composed entirely of 6th graders competing in their first tournament, placed 5th and earned the Robot Design Award.
BRICK-OLOTL placed 10th, and The Blub Blub Fish came in 15th.
Both Koding Krakens and Diving Dogs are advancing to the sectional tournament.
A huge shout-out to the coaches—Mario Arango, Damaris Allen, Mike McPharlin and JP Navin—for their guidance and support. Additionally, special recognition goes to Devyn Keeney, who dedicated countless hours as the Qualifier Tournament Coordinator, ensuring that every robotics student had the opportunity to compete in this amazing event.
Congratulations to all the teams and volunteers for a fantastic tournament.
