Employee Celebration MX Honors Parker Veterans
Parker honored faculty and staff members at this year’s Employee Celebration Morning Ex. Seven employees commemorated their 20-year anniversaries, while longtime Middle School Drama teacher Ed Garza culminated his 25-year Parker career with retirement.
Principal Dan Frank began the presentation with kind remarks, then introduced Lower School Drama teacher Leslie Holland Pryor, who spoke of Garza’s many accomplishments during his tenure at the school and shared a video of Garza teaching choreography for Parker’s 2001 production of A Chorus Line.
Pryor ended her remarks by addressing Garza, saying, “You may take leave from Parker, but never from our hearts. We bid you adieu, Mr. Garza, and celebrate a job well done.”
Next, various faculty and staff members honored those who have been working at Parker for 20 years, including:
- Lower School Art teacher Anne Blasko
- Director of Auxiliary Programs Alex Franke ’99
- Auxiliary Programs Coordinator Shontique Jackson
- Fourth grade teacher Miriam Pickus
- Learning Resource teacher Sheila Rintels
- Lower School Counselor Kaela Rowe ’89
- Upper School Science teacher Leslie Webster
A close friend or colleague praised each of the honorees, who then received an honorary Parker diploma from Principal Frank. The program concluded with the Colonel Choir performing “With a Little Help from My Friends.”
Congratulations to all who were honored, especially Mr. Garza. Parker hopes you enjoy your well-deserved retirement!
