Leveraging Clean Energy for Student Learning

A Parker faculty member was among the thought leaders participating in a recent webinar focusing on clean energy.

Upper School Science teacher Ryan Zaremba joined Illinois Shines Power Agency Senior Program Manager Audrey Steinbach and Climate Jobs Illinois Campaign Mobilization Director Mia Korinke for an IPA Power Hour. These recurring webinars allow experts to have focused conversations about clean energy in a range of different industries and sectors within the state.

Presenters discussed ways to incentivize schools to take on the transition to clean energy and make it more accessible, as well as possibilities for leveraging energy savings for schools. As a panelist, Zaremba talked about how to leverage transitions to clean energy for student learning, engagement and advocacy. Among the ideas were ways teachers and administrators could design curriculum, empower students and create problem-solving opportunities for students.

Zaremba shared, “I was very honored to be considered for this opportunity. Clean energy is an issue that is very important to me as a teacher and as a person, so it was a fulfilling and exciting experience.”
