Life Trustee and Grandparent John G. Levi Recognized with Seymour Preston Award

In recognition of his hard work and dedication, civic leader, philanthropist and dedicated volunteer John G. Levi received the Seymour Preston Award at a special reception at the CASE-NAIS Independent School Conference in Austin, Texas.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education presents the Seymour Preston Award annually to a school trustee who has exhibited exceptional commitment and leadership in developing voluntary support for their institution. This award pays tribute to Seymour Preston, a longtime trustee of the Lawrenceville School and the first recipient of the award.

This award distinguishes Levi for nearly three decades of service to Parker as a parent of three alumni and current grandparent. Known in some circles as Parker’s “modern day founder,” Levi has served the school since 1996 and helped successfully lead and support three campaigns raising nearly $150 million.

Parker’s Campaign and Major Gift Committee, a vital group of volunteers across Parker’s constituencies, began under Levi’s leadership in 1996 and continues to steward the institution’s advancement. The committee’s weekly meetings have provided a regular forum for Levi to mentor Parker trustees during the past 30 years, helping to ensure the school’s future. Levi continues his legacy as an active member of this committee, helping to secure funding for Parker’s current campaign.

Generations of Parker students and their families have Levi and his longstanding commitment and leadership to thank for their experience at Parker in one way or another. 

A well-deserved award for an individual who has done so much for so many.
