Career Day in the Upper School

Students in Parker’s 11th and 12th grades recently participated in an Upper School Career Day to connect students with Parker alumni to learn more about different careers and the varied trajectories that have led people to their current jobs.

The event began in the Heller Auditorium with a special keynote address delivered by former parent and Board President John G. Levi. Levi is a partner in Sidley’ Austin LLP’s Chicago office, serves as the Board Chair of the Legal Services Corporation and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In this gathering with Upper School students, Levi spoke to his own working experience and the successful career trajectories that each of his three children have gone on to since graduating from Parker.

Following the keynote address, students transitioned into two rotations of breakout sessions to meet with alumni panels representing a variety of career paths, ranging from medicine to education, from politics to art and fashion, from real estate to tech startups and everything in between before enjoying lunch with visiting alumni.
