Red Cross Club Sounds the Alarm

Prior to April Recess, students in the Upper School Red Cross Club gathered on a Saturday to install smoke detectors and provide home fire education in West Chicago as part of the Sound the Alarm event.

Sound the Alarm, is a nationwide initiative of the American Red Cross that activates thousands of volunteers to go into their communities to install smoke alarms for those who need them. The organization hopes to install 1,400 new alarms across the state in the month of March as part of this effort.

Thanks to the students who helped to connect empathy with action at this event in the Red Cross Club’s ongoing pursuit to alleviate human suffering in whatever form it might present itself.
