While the result of this year’s election may sit differently with each person, the schools stands firm on the belief that everyone in the community can and should continue to act and think with empathy, courage and clarity.
Inspired by the concept of visual unity in art (bringing disparate elements together to create a whole), members of Parker’s Art Department created a collage to emphasize the differences that may exist while continuing to work towards being a unified community. Parker educates students to become leaders in a diverse democratic society, which requires citizens to work with each other, even when their beliefs do not align, by finding the humanity within each person and the similarities that unite us despite our differences.
Everyone is invited to contribute to this spontaneous, communal artwork. If you are interested in adding a piece, please contact Art teachers Kay Silva or Alexandra Harmel.
