FWPMUN IX Reinforces Global Collaboration

More than 400 students from around the city participated in Parker’s 9th annual Model United Nations Conference.

Each year, Model United Nations simulations take place around the city, country and world, helping students learn more about the principles and functions of the United Nations. Parker has hosted its own conference (FWPMUN) for nine years, and student interest and participation has never been stronger—with 410 visiting the school for the event!

From 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Parker’s campus was abuzz with all the excitement a Model United Nations conference offers, including a keynote address by MedGlobal President Dr. Zaher Sahloul and 15 authentic global simulations led by 75 Parker Upper School students for member countries to simulate concrete and collaborative action to support UN values and goals. The opening and closing speeches by two seniors, Secretary-General Julia Josephson and Director-General Beckett Nikitas, were the perfect bookends to a fantastic day. The event closed with a ceremony featuring individual and group awards to outstanding contributors.

Congratulations to the student organizers who made this event a reality and worked so hard to continue its success!
