Illinois State Climatologist Dr. Trent Ford returned to Parker to speak to students about our climate.
Faculty members James Audrain, Andy Bigelow, Ryan Zaremba and Peg Zerega organized a day full of discussions for the visiting Dr. Ford, including the 11th and 12th grade Climate Science and Environmental Justice elective, 4th and 5th grades and 6th grade—all in one day!
“As the climate continues to change and its effects on our lives are more and more clear, climate change education and activism are vital to preparing our students for the near and far future,” Zaremba shared. “Dr. Ford and his work are so important for the State of Illinois and our changing climate. The students asked great questions and made awesome observations about how climate change is affecting their lives now and will continue to do so in the future. We are very proud to have hosted him and look forward to doing it again in upcoming years.”
Parker is grateful to Dr. Ford for spending a day with our students. As Zaremba said, “These experiences are mission-driven and are preparing our students for being global citizens, innovators and the leaders of tomorrow.”
