Scholastic Bowl Thrives in National Math Competition

On Friday, November 11, 24 Upper School students took part in the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC), a written problem-solving contest more than 300,000 students nationwide take annually.
An initiative of the Mathematical Association of America, the AMC is the gold standard in competitive math at the high school level. Students who score in the top 5% of test takers qualify for the next level of the competition, the prestigious American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). This year, junior Grant Koh became the first-ever Parker student to qualify for the AIME. He will complete this level of the competition on Wednesday, February 15, with an opportunity to qualify for the most selective level of the competition, the USA Mathematical Olympiad.
