Lower School Summer To-Do List

This is an online version of the handout provided at the New Family Barbecue. It is meant to be a guide for items that you can do ahead of the start of school, however, it is not exhaustive. Please continue to monitor your email regarding additional updates and further instructions to ensure your family is fully prepared for the start of the school year. Please note, items are listed chronologically, and those with asterisks (*) are optional.

July

  • Review your Profile in the Portal and update information as needed (available Monday, July 15).

  • Subscribe to the Blue Calendar (available Monday, July 15).*

  • Submit your tuition payment via Blackbaud Tuition Management by Monday, July 15.

  • Learn how to use the Parker Portal with Director of Communications Nick Saracino and Director of Technology Pete Evans at Parker Portal 101 on Wednesday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.*

  • Submit your Magnus Health Requirements through the Portal by Saturday, July 20.

  • Attend JK Families Gathering on Tuesday, July 30, 4:30–5:30 p.m.

  • Set up a food service account (additional information will be available in July).*

August

  • Review Start of School Information to be sent via email the week of August 12, including:
    • Class List and Grade Chair List
    • Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
    • Planned Absence Process
    • Process for Ordering Milk/Lunch*

  • Attend the Parents’ Association Welcome New SK–5th Grade Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 27 from 3:30–5 p.m.*

  • Schedule intake conference on Wednesday, August 28 or Thursday, August 29.

September

  • Attend the JK–5 Open House on Tuesday, September 3 from 2–3:30 p.m.
  • Attend the First Day of School on Wednesday, September 4
    (Half day for JK and SK, full day for 1st–3rd).

  • Sign Up for a New Parent Meeting: Parker Community Overview with the Development and Alumni Office.
  • Attend JK and SK Curriculum Nights on Thursday, September 12 from 6–7:15 p.m. Attend 3rd Grade Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 19 at 6 p.m.
  • Attend 1st and 2nd Grade Curriculum Nights on Thursday, September 19 at 7 p.m.

Please note: the only school supplies needed for your student are a
backpack and a water bottle.
