Parker Offers Screening of “How to Poison a Planet”

Parker’s inaugural Horwitz-Barreto Visiting Scholar Dr. Junhong Chen recently conducted labs with Upper School science students. Chen recently received one of the largest climate awards in Chicago’s history from the National Science Foundation and  is currently involved with Chicago Water Week, which takes place from Sunday, May 4 through Saturday, May 10.

As part of Chicago Water Week, Upper School Science teacher Gigi Matthews is encouraging the Parker community to attend a screening of How to Poison a Planet—an award-winning documentary featuring environmental attorney Rob Bilott and actor/activist Mark Ruffalo that explores the global impact of PFAS contamination. This film will be part of the World Water Film Festival, and the screening takes place on Monday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at Jones College Prep with a panel discussion to follow.
